The Hill Sisters of Louisville - Free Lecture at the Culbertson Mansion
Louisville is home to some of the nation’s greatest history, and the city itself has undergone changes that led to unexpected discoveries, innovation, and cultural advancement throughout the region and even the world. The Hill Sisters are one of the greatest examples of this global contribution, as their song “Happy Birthday to You” is known to many as the most famous song on Earth. But the creation of this song has an extraordinary path and is truly a by-product from decades of work by two Louisville educators during a time of great achievement. Local historian Jessica Stavros will detail how a pair of remarkable women grew from a unique time & place, inspired by the history of their city and a new idea of the future to make great change for their hometown and their world.
This lecture is free & open to the public and is given in honor of Women's History Month.
This lecture will take place at the Culbertson Mansion Friday March 24th at 12:00 P.M.
